INTERESTING PEOPLE WE MEET

Over the period of three years of running the bike shop and repair station, we have had some very interesting visitors. Bikers from other countries pedaling through India (Goa) have dropped in at our shop for repairs and we are proud that every time we could deliver a good service.

Today we had John Irvine from Cyprus dropping in at our Margao shop for fixing up his bike. John has been visiting India and riding across our country for past 30 years. Time has not slowed him down, at age 64 he still covers a distance of 100-120Km per day when touring.

This softspoken retired professor from University of London was pleasantly surprised to see a well equipped bike shop in Goa, as I worked on his bike, John shared interesting experiences and observations. One observation of his " ..... a few years ago while touring Thailand on a cycle, people would offer him money to buy bus ticket, thinking that this foreigner was too poor and hence had bicycle as the only option and now every town in Thailand has their own bicycle racing teams (MTB and Road).

Hope India too becomes a Bike Friendly country.....
